Due to the recent escalation of tensions and military conflict between the United States and Iran, global maritime transportation routes have been affected. Certain international shipping lanes now face increased security risks, particularly routes passing near or through parts of the Middle East.
As a result, shipping insurance premiums and security surcharges have risen significantly.
Impact on Shipments to Ghana
Some of the shipping routes to Ghana pass near affected regions, leading to increased operational and safety-related costs.
After confirmation with our shipping partners, we have been advised that: Vehicle Freight costs to Ghana are expected to increase by at least 11,000 GHS per vehicle in the short term.
Please note that this adjustment is directly related to temporary geopolitical risks and is not a permanent price increase.
